Bilasipara is a sub-division of Dhubri district of Assam. It has been a prime business place in entire lower Assam area since long before independence. This town has been taking a great roll in the development of almost entire lower Assam area. But unfortunately, very little infrastructure development was observed upto some 15-20 years before, which has been observed completely stopped at present time.
Few days ago Bilasipara town committee was awarded for the best developmental work. They installed some street lights along the main roads of the town. But people noticed nothing developmental work beyond that. That office along with the municipality department always been receiving only curse from people for their silence in any kind of development of the entire town.
The town has no water drainage system, no proper garbage cleaning system, electrical connection is available but current supply barely remains available for some hours in a day, the only main road of the town is very narrow & last but not least, the road's condition is one of the worst road condition in Assam. The town's main road from Puranibazaar to Police point is in such a condition that one can easily cultivate fishes in some portions in rainy season. The whole portion in full of small & big potholes, where water logs at rainy season & becomes dusty in dry season. Time to time the people of Bilasipara are showing their protests, agitations & strong ire to the administration but, all that exercises appears futile.
Proudly, CM Tarun Gogoi often declares that Assam is now a developed state than before. According to him & his team Assam's progress is in fast track. But the question is why people of Bilasipara, the main town of a sub-division of a district has been suffering from year after year? Where goes the funds allotted for the development of the constituency and the town itself? Mr. CM sir, whether you or your subordinates visited this area to see the reality of your developments?
