Olympic, the greatest sports show on the earth will begin from 27th July, 2012 in London. Around 2000 athletes from 204 National Olympic Committee (NOCs) countries competing in 47 events with both men and women having very similar schedule of events. Total 83 Indian athletes are taking part in this show.

Assam has a good hope from Boxer Shiva Thapa, Archer Jayanta Talukdar, woman boxer Mari Com from Manipur etc. 

For the first time in the history of Assam, a Bihu troupe from Assam will dazzle in London Olympics. A 16-member troupe will be performing Bihu during the Indian campaign for the London Olympics on August 1 and 2 at Royal Festival Hall, South Bank Centre in London. Bihu maestro Ranjeet Gogoi will lead the team. With another team leader Utpal Baruah, an associate professor in the department of design at IIT, Guwahati, the team will perform Bihu at the ‘Olympic Fine Arts-2012’, to be held in London for the visitors during the Olympics.
